How was your day?

My day was frustrating.

As some of you know, we here at the Clark household have had a run of bad luck concerning our garage freezers and refrigerators this year.

Today, I went looking for used, upright, frost-free freezers. But everything I saw was either a deep freeze and/or a manual defrost.

I'm a 53-year-old grandmother. I'm way past the days of standing on my head while trying to dig something out of the bottom of a deep freeze. Nor do I relish the idea of unloading a freezer every couple of months in order to defrost it.

I'm going out again tomorrow. Maybe I'll have better luck. I hope so, because I just hate the idea of buying a new freezer -- to put in the garage.

I hope you find what you're looking for.
Whether it be a Garage sale or Goodwill/Salvation Army/St Vincent Depaul, or even a used appliance store.... I would think there should be something out there!

Hi Meg,

I couldn't open up my local chapter. But from what I read at the main page, it sounds like a wonderful idea. So I sent off an email, hoping to get more info about the Evansville chapter.

Thanks.

Re: How was your day?

Meg, I didn't find a freezer with FreeCycle, but I did join. I think this is a fantastic idea.

I got rid of my old printer. (The black inkhead quit working, I think. I replaced the cartridge 3 times and it wouldn't work anymore.) But somebody wanted it anyway. <shrug>

My life started getting busy on April 23rd. That's when E's baseball games kicked in. Right now, he's on 2 teams. His regular team plays on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. His HS Cub team plays on Saturdays and Sundays, plus they practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

And I'm the chauffeur. His mother doesn't get off in time to get him to the field an hour before the games start.

We've had a lot of rain lately. So last night's game and today's game were cancelled. Both fields have standing water. There is supposed to be a double header scheduled for tomorrow. We'll see.

So this evening should be a nice relaxing evening. There's time for me to catch up with you all. Time for me to cook a dinner with veggies and everything. (Ballpark food gets real boring real quick.) Time to sit back and watch some television.

And I'm the chauffeur.

I know that routine well. I call my car "Papa's Taxi". It isn't so bad now that my granddaughter is in college, but she will be home next Saturday to begin her summer vacation. There are two trips to Atlanta's Hartsfield airport (140 miles one way) already scheduled for the summer. That takes us up to the 15th of June. shock

Re: How was your day?

Freezer in the garage? ouch! We have one. Used once, then put in the garage to save space. Been there two years now. We have a detached garage, without electricity'

Yesterday was frustrating. It looked as if I had been banned from the fora, and had to start looking for another repository for my 1945 journal. JP rescued me by phoning me (fron Chile) to say the same had happened to him, but W.P.G.was now back on line.
