Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Morning all biggrin
Peter, Day trips are my speciality..
Scarborough an hour away from home, Whitby (My favourite )and Bridlington the same.
Redcar even closer (but not as nice) Robin Hoods Bay an hour away, the Hartlepool Marina less than an hour..all I need is some petrol, and a couple of quid for my fish and chip lunch plus my "Kiss me quick" hat (Which recently seems to be malfunctioning! crying )
Years ago we used to go to pull the birds, now all I pull is muscles! devilish

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Morning all
Only a couple of quid for Chiss & Fips !!!
price this side of country £3/£3.50
Better than the Savoy in London I remember seeing a Menu from there about ten years back
The price was some thing like £12.00 crying

Weather back to wind and rain .
I was so lucky yesterday with the sunny day .
My little project while out walking the area is old industrial remains
yesterday the remains of an old Iron smelting site just a chimbly now right on the shore line
but there had been smelting on the site since roman times . The old Lime kilns scatered all over some times a scramble to find them ,sometimes partial restoration but often a pile of stones.

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Den I know where you are coming from..........
Pleased to hear your lads coming home for a bit, my old Battalion arrived home last week from Afganistan minus 8 men and many wounded, one guy was already back here as he had had both his legs blown off, however he insisted on greeting his COMRADES home and alongside Mr & Mrs Civvy gave the lads a wonderful reception.
The tide is turning, Joe public are begining to appreciate and understand what our troops are going through but sadly there are still some who are ignorant beyond words, including members of parliament!.

Take care old buddie don't let the 'Bs' grind you down.
