Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Good evening one and all :) At the wonderful age of 84 my father has finally decided to join the RSA. He was staunchly against it most of his adult life claiming he didn't want to be reminded of what he had seen and experienced. He often speaks of the fields in Korea that were just awash with Cosmos flowers so to him that is the equivilent of the Poppy. My Dad also has a beautiful Photo album full of pictures he took whilst overseas in Greece etc. I am fortunate that he shared these memories with me.
Regards Kate

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Hi Kate,
As with the others of you that are distant from the UK I will try to get a disc to send to you.
The events it covers are.
Aden, Korea,HMS Sidon,Northern Ireland, and Afghanistan, but maily it tells of the building of a massive new memorial, covering over 100 acres in Staffordshire, Each regiment has its own area, and its own memorial, but the centrepiece is a huge memorial to all those who have died since WW2.
Its in a magnificent setting, and well worth a visit. At present it is being landscaped with thousands of trees, so I guess it will look its best sometime next year.

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Good morning everyone.
I've hit a snag, I'm trying to install the newest version of BOINC but no matter which computer I try it on, I get an error message and it closes. This comes after I answer all the little pre-install questions. I checked the BOINC board but didn't see where anyone was having this problem.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Hi there,
Try turning off your anti virus protection for the down load, sounds drastic but it worked for me. turn it on again immediatly after.
Good luck

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Evening all
Another pleasant day down here in the Smoke but, having just spoken to daughter No 2 in Bradford it seems as if it has been pretty general.

Owlie must have passed the 10 million points by now so WOW and congrats.

laughing Oh and I forgot to mention that you will have seen I once again have a flag but not the former one. I had to delete and reinstall about three times before it really wanted to admit me.

Which version are you installing? This one? And what error message do you get?

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Partsman, BOINC version 5.10.22 which is available from WCG (see Baron's link), has installed without a problem on most of my machines (haven't upgraded them all yet). You don't even have to uninstall the previous version.

Try that one.
