Greetings!! I just joined today and started using the UD Agent but have seen that most everyone agrees BOINC is the way to go. I am running on Windows XP and would like to change from UD to BOINC.
What is the best way to proceed? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! |

Hi there,
----------------------------------------the quickest way to BOINC nirvana is going off-site to www.wcgwiki.org for the easy 'migration', after, come back and follow the install instruction of WCG.
cheers.

Here is the WCG Wiki page 'Migrate from the UD agent tro BOINC': http://www.wcgwiki.org/en/boinc/migration.cfm
The main point to remember is whether or not to allow multiple threads (you can really chew up memory on a hyperthreading Pentium IV running 2 projects) and deciding if you need to throttle the program to reduce heat (except on laptops, why throttle?). Lawrence |

There are days you will think the old days were better The days in December when the blizzard knocked out the BOINC servers could have been some. I brought up the UD version and kicked out a few workunits before BOINC returned.
