Dodgy Disk Drive
----------------------------------------It's currently stuck on 6% on it's scandisk Isn't it just the way. I delivered my big project I been working on for over a month just this morning. The day the Web Server goes belly up At least it's moved onto 8% now the wcgwiki log file is toast though fingers crossed - hopefully more files won't bite the dust (aarrgghh) PC's daft idea. Oh well I'm now no worse than Blackberry ![]() |

Well I did wait quite a while until it got up to 18%
----------------------------------------A crashed server is as compelling as defrag used to be I finally dragged myself away from it and like an unwatched pot it completed it's task almost immediately. At around 9:15pm BST normal service was resumed. The order for the second drive will go in Monday just in case we have another rainy day. I've fixed the line on the graph it's now just 1 pixel wide Check it out at http://www.wcgwiki.org/spreadtheword/top10.cfm Enjoy. Sometimes you don't really miss things until they are gone. I still check everyday :-) It is encouraging to see all the new accounts and how the banners we have placed are getting click-thru's! Yay! Thank you David! Diana G. ![]() |

Thanks Diana for the support
----------------------------------------I've been real busy since the start of this year trying to get other things off the ground and I've not been giving this the attention it deserves. But it is working some of the peaks are anomalies (it's usually someone having a look around the site or search engines following the links) but the general trend is upwards. Which can only be a good thing Keep promoting the World Community Grid follow the link in the sig below (it's working now )(no such thing as bad publicity )![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by David Autumns at Apr 22, 2007 3:03:02 PM] |

Aloha
David Autumns, what on earth are you apologising for? This is notice that you might need to lighten up on yourself alittle... You do alot for this project, and one thing I have found about these electronic abacus's we enjoy is when we hit a wall, we walk away for a day, and completely rethink our approach to the problem. Or have you forgotten that the most advanced systems still have only a fraction of the reasoning power of our own little top-mounted ones???!!! Get my drift! eh...... p.s. my spybot search and destroy just caught the first trojan in my system. And the definition for it only came out last week. safer networking's software is the only one available to id and eradicate bad guys disguised as adware, which, unfortunately, is what most experienced badguys use to get an exploit into your works. If you can make it as far as a successful boot, get online to Secunia, and let them do a system scan. It's non-invasive, using Java 1.6 ( 1.5 is now obsolete! ). My suspicious discernment tells me your server has been exploited. Good Luck! ![]() |
