IMPORTANT Please Read This: Posting Messages for New Members

When you have composed a new message it is good practice to click on Edit and copy it to the clipboard before you click on Post New Thread

As sometimes it will time out on you and give you an error message, so you have to start again

You can then start your Thread again and just click on Edit and paste it back into the message box

This will save you having to completely retype it which can become a little frusterating if it is a long message

Hope this helps

Regards

Advanced Member WTG!

Thanks I have done that a few times and it has saved allot of work.
From now on it's "copy" before I even preview my posts.

Re: IMPORTANT Please Read This: Posting Messages for New Members

Graham,

I do that if it takes me a while to compose a post, whether a new topic or a reply, before I hit the link to submit, (I use CTRL-A to select all the text, then CTRL-C to copy it, CTRL-V to bring it back)

Sometimes I will copy the text over to a word processor to run a spell check on it, but sometimes I do not and my post will have typos. There is an edit post function, but when you edit your post it indicates that you have edited it. There is a way of editing a post without it showing up that the post has been edited, but it only works if no one has replied to your post yet. Go into the edit post screen, copy all the text to the clipboard, go back to the original thread page and delete the post. Then reply to the same thread again, but copy in the text from the first time, and correct whatever it was that you wanted to correct, you will get the edited post without it being labelled as having been edited.
