In one day, we have returned more results than the entire team has contributed since its inception.
I have always been for distributed projects (RC5, SETI, etc.). This one, though has the potential to really have an impact on the human condition. Spread the word. Tell all your friends/family/colleagues. Most importantly: Keep up the good work! Looks like I will only be points leader of the team for so long . Ah well, all glory is fleeting . |

Yep, I wonder if all IBM teams will now get together so we can actually have a real opponent.

I was just waiting for the ranking to jump up. We quickly jumped to #1 with members, but the points wouldn't show up for 24hrs after the first one was turned in. But we went from #14 to #4 REAL quick. And I'm sure there's more to come... and just wait until there's a linux version available... there should be another big jump there too!

I suspect now that new members will slow down however, because the post for the grid is now off the front page of slashdot. We'll probably lose some too who just decide it's not for them. I'm hesistant to say we will make it to 3000 people in the group unless it gets more advertising. But with slashdotters you never know.
In any case, as liberty said, once the linux client is released. God help the grid's servers. |

In all fairness though I am just a member. Thanks to w98 for starting the team, samzenpus for posting the story on /., and all the /. members for participating. Although friendly internal competition is healthy, I am just glad we are all working towards the same goal. |

I'd suggest we try to get most of the team members to change their /. signatures in to a short blurb on the team and the project to keep grabbing people's attention, for example, mine: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=134521&cid=11232181 [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 1, 2005 5:18:33 PM] |
