Have Any New Proposals Been Approved For The Future

Due to the enormity of this project it will obviously be running for a few more months, so I was wondering if and when a new project meets all the criteria required to qualify, will they have to wait until the Proteome_Folding project completes before their project can be implemented, or are side by side projects being considered for the future, depending on the urgency of obtaining results for these new proposals.

It would be an enormous benefit to share resources with critical projects if the need arose, although I am aware of the inherent problems associated with any project of this size but I am sure a way would be found to overcome these barriers for the good of mankind.

Here’s to looking forward to finding remedies and vaccines to cure debilitating diseases and improve the quality of life for all.

I marvel at the generosity of the general public when they come to the aid of projects like this, but I think more should be done to make the public aware of the existence of the WorldCommunityGrid to enable the unaware to contribute to such a worthy cause.

I am sure that there must be a way to bring this project to the attention of the Media with more effectiveness to enable us to start a crunching revolution.

Case in point, this little snippet of information on Slashdot.org generated in excess of 2750 members in 24 hours.

another similar writes "IBM's World Community Grid is off to a roaring start. Since kicking off six weeks ago (original Slashdot story), the grid has grown to almost 36,000 users with almost 50,000 machines. Growth continues as more media coverage hits. There is a team of Slashdot users - currently ranked 13th in points with only 79 members. If you have spare cycles, download the software, join us and crank for medicine. For those of you with dual processor systems, you'll have to use a homebrewed tool - beyond two is not supported yet. Alas, you also have to be running Redmond's finest. According to their FAQ, a Linux client is slated for development in 2005.")

So as members of such a worthy cause, are we doing enough?

Thank you for reading this post.

Best Regards.

cool Re: Have Any New Proposals Been Approved For The Future

Mom always made us wait until Christmas, except for one year when my whining caused her to allow me to unwrap my Brainiac computer kit the day before Christmas. angel

The Advisory Board is supposed to consider new proposals four times a year. Two of these meetings are supposed to be physical, to allow unimpeded discussion.

I expect it will be a while before our new startup begins churning out new projects. Just my opinion.
