I accidentally registered a PC using "new account" but I used the same name as my account (including pass.)
I reinstalled the software, and then used the "existing user" option, and typed everything in. Now, it just finished with one WU, and the software says I got only the points for the WU that it just finished, it didn't add up w/ my old points (or CPU Time)  . The same PC is registered twice in my grid (apparently when u use new user, it identifies u as existing user)Di I register that PC with another account but w/ the same name?? |

Compare the name that is right hand top of the Home page of UD Agent with the name u are logged in with now. A new user is a new user and it should have told u that it was already in the database.

Thanks for replying.
When I installed for the first time, and used create new user, I used the same name, then I uninstalled, installed gain, copied from the website account name, then selected existing user and pasted it, and used same pass. On my device list, it shows two identical PCs (the one Im having trouble with) |

Well, the first WU form that PC finished about 3 hours ago. But the software only has that PCs points, not all my points added together. And yes, names are identical.

The copy past made me think, and it happens regularly when copy pasting names into the Member Compare, that an extra space comes along. A leading space nothing is found, an ending space "MiniZiper " pops up.
----------------------------------------Can you make a copy past of the member stats page where 2 devices are listed and also of the devices where 'device statistics' are listed (Device Manager > Device Statistics). Identical Device names are possible during registration of UD agents, but if u try to edit any of them, than save, u wont be able to do that..... one needs to be renamed. U wont see the stats adding up on the website until after the 00:06 UTC update run. thanks

Ok I tried again to re-register. Once it received the new WU. it showed the same points from before (its like 256, but on the website i have 734, since last year because I stopped, and now im starting to crunch again).

 if you are a BOINC agent then go to some other project and merge the two computers. the format of this project is different so i am having difficulties navigating it but maybe they also have an option to merge the machines  go to your account page then click hosts you will see all the machines in there you can merge them.Nothing to be worried about we old crunchres do keep changing machines so we all face it.Regards Masud. |

----------------------------------------Not sure if you have found a round about way to merge PCs that are attached to a non-wcg project to get the devices at WCG to merge (Not likely) or are tossing a friendly reminder  ...... as it is, it's hi on the wish-list, but not implemented and rather complicated with the hybrid project WCG is having UD & BOINC agents working in tandem on the same project.Old machine / new machine.... have never tried taking a copy (clone) a BOINC install and put it on a second machine, than run it. Think to have read that the servers recognize it's a different piece of hardware and will throw the work away on return. edit: spelling corrected
