Looking at the response that a quarter of a page of Information posted on Slashdot.org can have to this project, more tech sites need to be encouraged to post some information regarding this very worthwhile project
This little snippet of information has already encouraged over 1700 new members to join since 10:50pm last night Posted by samzenpus on Thursday December 30, @10:50PM from the lucky-number dept. another similar writes "IBM's World Community Grid is off to a roaring start. Since kicking off six weeks ago (original Slashdot story), the grid has grown to almost 36,000 users with almost 50,000 machines. Growth continues as more media coverage hits. There is a team of Slashdot users - currently ranked 13th in points with only 79 members. If you have spare cycles, download the software, join us and crank for medicine. For those of you with dual processor systems, you'll have to use a homebrewed tool - beyond two is not supported yet. Alas, you also have to be running Redmond's finest. According to their FAQ, a Linux client is slated for development in 2005." Should'nt we be Emailing ZDNet, Reuters, AFP, Silicon.com, Electronic News, vnunet, CBR, MSNBC, etc etc If they receive enough responses from the members here they are bound to sit up and take notice Give me your imput for a story to be put in a column on some of these sites and we can all Email it to lots of the News Sites on the Net Anticipating lots of responses from you journalistic types out there Best Regards |

I can make a suggestion. Although I am not much of a writer, I can recommend a few more techie sites in the US that may generate another chunk of interest. I would submit to:
geek.com osnews.com newsforge.com anandtech.com tomshardware.com eWeek CNET Wired Extremetech.com sciencedaily.com At least those are the ones in my bookmarks. |
