How do I remove this agent? It ties up my PC and is causing me problems but when I try to remove it I get an error saying that it is running and I cannot remove it. I have tried to kill the process in the performance manager but I still cannot uninstall it or stop it.

I presume you are using windows> There should be an icon on the task bar at the bottom, toward the right hand side. Right click this. Select the exit option. Go to Control Panel. Select Add/Remove programs. Go to the World Community Grid Agent. Hightlight this and click on the remove button. Hope this helps.

It ties up my PC and is causing me problems EXIT INTERVIEW: It shouldn't, as it runs at lowest priority. What problems? That's only your first post, and it says you're going away.
