Newly Installed BOINC

I installed BOINC even though my previous World Community Grid Agent was still running on the same PC.... thinking it was an upgrage to the client piece. It seems both are running. Is that a bad thing? Should I just un-install WCG?

Re: Newly Installed BOINC

Exit one of them. They can interact in strange ways.

If there is a choice, keep BOINC. It has a message log that can indicate errors for you and us, and is more automatic most of the time.

Re: Newly Installed BOINC

Don't forget to remove the UD agent icon from the startup menu START>>PROGRAMS>>STARTUP, otherwise it will just start again the next time you reboot. Or you can just uninstall the whole program.

Re: Newly Installed BOINC

True. Only start one.

I still keep both of them around. During the blizzards the BOINC server was down for several days. I ran some UD workunits to get some useful work done.
