Please increase forum login timeout

The timeout for the forums is incredibly short. I have lost postings because I took too long writing it and was timed out, having to log back in, re-navigate to the thread, and re-type the post from scratch!

I also like to leave the forums list up on-screen, and refresh it occasionally to check for new posts, but frequently find I have been timed out and reduced to "guest" and have to return to the login page before I can do anything.

Any chance that timeout number can be bumped up to something a bit more reasonable? I realize there are probably more pressing issues, but I suspect this is a fairly easy setting for an administrator to tweak in about 10 seconds flat.

Re: Please increase forum login timeout

I got so fed up with losing posts that I compose them in Wordpad and cut and paste them in, then modify the layout and add smilies after

This way it has stopped all the frusteration of retyping long posts

Can I suggest that you try this untill they increase the time out

Regards

Re: Please increase forum login timeout

I have started just skipping the last "Reply to Post" step for longer posts. Instead I highlight all, copy, log back in, find the post again, hit reply, paste, and I'm good to go. :-) That way you still get to use the formatting toolset.

It would still be nice to not have to worry about it, though. angry
