unresponsive

Applications on my system seem to lock up when I'm running Boinc from time to time. The mouse will move but IE or windows media player for example wont respond. Anyone else encounter this?

Re: unresponsive

That shouldn't happen.

Are you sure BOINC's to blame? How often does it happen? How long does it last for?

The only way BOINC could trigger this behaviour (that I can think of) is if it needs Windows to resize your paging file. However, Windows usually pops up an alert if it has to do that.

No. I am not sure. If you're sure it wouldn't be the BOINC software then i'll look around and see what else I'm running that could be causing it. It could be just about anything though, I'm on vista=/

The keyword slipped in is Vista! Try reinstalling outside the \program files\ directory group. What memory size you have? 2gb recommended minimum from what is said to get any reasonable performance.
