It would be nice if the stats were updated more than once a day. I believe folding@home updates theirs in real time.

Realtime would not be possible because they are using the UD system wich not allows that. Multiple updates should be possible but asks lots of servertime...
I don't know if they want to do it. 1/day is enough for me ![]() |

Hi BiomedtekI read somewhere in an earlier post that this was under consideration, as it had been suggested by another member, but was not a high priority due to more pressing problems that are being adressed I feel sure that it will become a reality in the coming months when more urgent topics have been resolved Regards <GRAHAM> |

Yeah, 24 hour update cycles are so 1980.
I dont think it would be too hard to get a database and add on to it whenever someone returns results. Its not like results are coming in 29 at a time or anything =) |

Hi mboverloadThen you would have nothing to look forward to each day One of the joys for the members here is to check their stats each day This is what gives then a reason to come to the forums and create all this comaradie and team competition There was 27,349 results returned yesterday alone That is one result every 3 seconds Can you imagine the strain on the database having to update all those stats every 3 seconds Look at the permutation of stats available to you on this forum and you might start to see the big picture I am sure a feasability study will be done as to the benefits of updating the database more often Maybe you would like to do it, as you did point out in your post that it wouldnt be too hardRegards [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 2, 2005 4:43:52 PM] |

Just to clarify. From the technical side, I think there are two points - one is updating the database as new results come in - even at three/sec, it's a 'trivial' number for a transaction database. Updating the published statistics is another point - not trivial in CPU cycles.
