I am curious how many active machines participate. I understand that there are ~250K registered users, but I doubt that many are actually routinely contributing.
I joined in December and I noticed my "ranking" jumped pretty quickly up the line until about ~70K. It's still improving and after only a couple of months I'm all ready at ~23K. I would think with my fairly recent participation it would taking me longer to get into the top 10% of contributors in such a short period of time, unless of course most people join and then drop it after a short period of time. The call for 'active' members and devices is on the 2007 wish-list for redesigning the statistics pages. Present numbers are for those members and any device ever having returned a valid result.
