Just running one machine. About 3 years old.
Dell Dimension 4600 with 80 gig hard drive and 1 gig of ram.

Al, I remember back a long time ago when I made the switch from the WCG agent to BOINC that the two seemed to run fine at the same time. Not sure if that is still true though. Basically though, each had 50% of the CPU and what with how the WCG agent doesn't really fully exploit the capabilities of today's machines, even those three years old, I think running BOINC only will give you more crunching and more results.

Boinc wont install on one of my machines says internal error sad

Gerald, try re-running the install exe and use the repair option.

I got it working i had to uninstall it then reinstall all is working smile

Glad to hear that. I know when I was giving BOINC 5.8.x a run and having to back-level to 5.4.11 a few times, I recall that BOINC would error out after going back to 5.4.11. If I re-ran the install, it would give me a choice of doing the normal install or running the repair option. The latter always fixed things. I thought you might have run into the same sort of situation. Given how quick and simple the install is, uninstall and reinstall vs repair is probably a wash.

Wow, my first time in the top 10 crunchers... yay!

-does a lil dance-

hope everyones having a good first half of the year :)

Well done Marc! It's going to be a hot summer up here. We're in a bit of a drought. Haven't even gotten half the normal amount of rain for the year. I believe the fall there tends to mean an end to the wildfires. Those normally seem to be on the east coast though. I read a good bit about the water problems there too. Hope it's not as bad on your side of Oz.

Re: smile smile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 18 smile smile

My apologies to everyone for not keeping as up with everything like normal. Life seems to insist on getting in the way! biggrin Switched medications for my GERD and that's much better now though they're about two bucks a pill - at least at retail. Hopefully, the mail-order pharmacy I'm supposed to use for long term meds will be cheaper. Saw a cardiologist as well just to check out the coronary side of things. He didn't like a couple of blips on the EKG so I ended up blowing the whole day getting some glow in the dark tests done (mainly a LOT of waiting). I was getting a bit of gas with the GERD and that pushed my stomach up thru the hietal hernia (stomach up thru the diaphram) and that was causing the discomfort I was feeling. Had figured that as long as I could belch when that happened, there was no need to call 911. wink Still, seemed wise to comfirm what I thought. Main thing was getting my thyroid tested. I think it's acting up but still waiting on those test results. Hopefully it's that and there's not really a "male menopause" laughing At any rate, I now understand what folks mean when they talk about the moodiness and hot flashes! Yeesh! Now if I can get things settled back down at work, I'll be able to spend some more time working on the team website. I'm going to get that where I want it eventually one way or another! biggrin

Re: smile smile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 18 smile smile

Hi Guys
Sorry about the hosting going down
I paid £64 for another year to keep your images and avatars working
My provider screwed up and I lost my domain name and hosting service
After repeated phone calls and eventually a threat to sue them if it was not sorted out in 24 hours, they restored my service today
So all is good for another year
Sorry I have not been around, but ill health and pressure of work has kept me at bay for quite a while
I will drop in from time to time to see how you guys are doing
Best Regards
Graham

Well Keith I'll give it a try and see if things move quicker.
I got nothing to lose at this point. Just thought if I ran both more results would get done. More points to of course. So we'll test it for a week and see what happens.
