We bounced back nicely today, just as I hoped. Plus we are back with milestones today too. Has anyone noticed that the UserFriendly.org team has passed us? With the sudden demise of grid.org, I'd like to think some folks from there will join us. Then again, it may be more likely that teams from there will move en masse. Either way, we'll keep on crunching......

I've read posts in the forums here about supposed server problems over at grid.org over the years. From the announcement, it sounds like they were trying to get a project or two to commit that fell thru and left them with nothing or next to nothing to crunch so they shut down. If problems there were frequent enough, that could have contributed to their end. I expect will see more about what happened in the forums here as crunchers from there move here.

I dont know why more people will not post I wish Fanie would let us know how things are going-I think they are in S. Africa

Gerald, thanks but I think the team would survive without me. MOT is a lot more than just me. We have a lot of folks who crunch regularly. WCG is geared to load and forget. There's nothing to be gained result-wise in getting involved in the forums or a team. What we can gain from a team is something that is determined by the team, not WCG. MOT doesn't have a narrow focus like a team of folks that work for the same company or that have some narrow, specific interest. What we have to offer is ourselves - our diversity of backgrounds, cultures and lives. Being involved here is the best way to benefit from that but folks have to make a small commitment to give it a try at least. Not everyone who signs up for WCG is interested in that, much less even aware of the possibility. Our "destiny" as a team is really in our own hands.

Well i was about to go somewhere else when you took over so i thought i would stick around--Im not much of a talker and i need to be corrected once and awhile my one finger poking away gets me in trouble sometimes i am just a real old house painter wink
