Can you down/upload WU remotely?

My situation is this: I got permission to install BOINC on my laptop at work, but I can't use the internet connection to download or upload work units, even at night or over the weekend. Since it's a laptop, I can take it home and do it there, but I'm wondering if there's another way. My two ideas:
Is it possible to download work units onto one computer, move them to a flash drive and then put them on another computer?
Can you install BOINC on a flash drive and move it between computers?
I know it's a shot in the dark, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks.

Re: Can you down/upload WU remotely?

Yes u can but and requires you to copy the complete BOINC installation over. Just the work units is not possible / would be very complex. Look for posts like Sneakernet. Don't run it from the flash drive. That will very probably result in errored work units due e.g. timing issues. The host machine needs to be equal OS to name just one important item. Here's one post discussing the matter and pitfalls to think about. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6515#52760

Uh, a key question is will you be routinely taking the laptop home each day? If so, just click on the Activity button and set it to Network activity suspended. When you get home, connect to the internet, change it back to Network activity always available and click on Update on the Projects tab. You'll upload all completed work and download new work needed based on your "Connect to server" setting in your profile. Switch it back to Network activity suspended until the next day.

Of course that raises another big question - if they won't allow any connecting to the internet at work and yet they will allow you to take the laptop home, are you allowed to connect to the internet at home with it?

Re: Can you down/upload WU remotely?

I don't take it home every day. I'm just being lazy. Actually, I take the train in, so that plus my backpack make for a bulky load sometimes. What I do now is basically what you suggested, except I've set it to download 10 days worth of work at once just so I don't have to bring it home every night.
I've also tried bringing my laptop to Panera during lunch and uploading and downloading there, but they seem to have it locked down to certain ports. I'm going to try an HTTP proxy. I'd rather spend 10 minutes during lunch up/downloading than 2 hours dragging it back and forth. It's not a problem if I have to, though. Just preference. Thanks for the help!
