I am concerned about WCG's speech-squelching license agreement.
I am contributing my cycles and all I ask in return is to be able to identify my cause and gather others around it while doing so. Unfortunately a lot of people don't like who I am or what I do. While others really do. So if you in a controversial group the official agreement is that you won't disagree or rather your name or link won't be "objectionable in any way." Here's the paragraph from what everyone agrees to in order to join up: [[http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/endUser.jsp http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/endUser.jsp] "YOU WILL NOT USE ANY TEAM OR INDIVIDUAL NAME OR ID OR CONTENT OR HYPERLINK TO ANOTHER SITE IN CONNECTION WITH WORLD COMMUNITY GRID THAT COULD BE CONSIDERED OFFENSIVE OR OBJECTIONABLE IN ANY WAY. WE WILL HAVE THE SOLE DISCRETION TO DECIDE WHETHER A NAME, ID, CONTENT OR HYPERLINK TO ANOTHER SITE IS OFFENSIVE OR OBJECTIONABLE IN ANY WAY. " I link to abortionNO.org - and that's the name of my team. Should I expect to get canned because some faceless WCG beuracrat is going find it objectionable? If this policy is enforced then I suggest anybody with any controversial groups should take their cpu cycles to another group. But I like WCG -- fighting AIDS and other biological medical issues is what being pro-life is also about. So I want to be involved here. I just think license agreement is way to authoritarian and socialist. We can be adults here and have links to stuff that we don't agree in. If you have any influence on this end user license agreement please change it! I'd hate to see people start leaving if it gets enforced (myself included) TEAM: abortionNO.org |

You skipped several parts of the forum rules, most importantly, you missed a very essential key: # Please make all posts kid friendly! So be adult about that and do not overextend your liberties considered so precious or attempt to post links not fitting the forum rules.
