smile UPX compression

Hi!

The new HPF2 executable is really large, 15.9 MB, and dial-up users and other participants with a slow internet connection may have problems downloading it. The developers at Rosetta@home introduced UPX compression of their applications (see this thread ). I compressed the current HPF2 application with UPX , and the size was reduced to 2.4 MB! What do you think?

Re: UPX compression

That's only on the first time when getting the science software or when the version is upgraded, but point taken. The work units themselves use the same 'inbuild' compression method as it came from the Rosetta developers.

Re: UPX compression

Oh yes, I forgot that the HPF2 application isn't updated very often.
