Not 100% sure if this is a program error, or server error. Please advise?

Hello LordDominik,
When something goes wrong with a transfer, bring up BOINC Manager and abort the transfer and abort the task. You might also want to reset the project. I have never had this happen, so I am unfamiliar with the simplest way to recover from it. Lawrence |

Lawrence I had tried to abort the transfer before posting, and that didn't solve it, but it appears that resetting the project did work, although it didn't report the completed work already finished Such is life I suppose. |

The proper sequence i think is to first abort/cancel the work unit in the Tasks Tab, than Abort/Cancel in the Transfer Tab. Only when truly stuck act as follows:
----------------------------------------1. Suspend the work fetch in the Projects tab, by selecting e.g. WCG. Than hit the "No New Tasks" button. 2. Suspend the work unit(s) with problem transmission in the Tasks Tab. 3. Finish the work that is in the queue, that has no problem 4. Transmit results when all work is done. To force this, go to project Tab and hit update whilst WCG is selected. 5. Check that all tasks have been reported and no 'ready to report' are left. You should still see the problem work unit(s) 6. Reset the Project. No loss of prior earned credits are incurred. As for the MD5 error, it should be passée as knreed posted yesterday that the compression feature was removed, causing this and ONLY for Genome Comparison. It's a bit like chess.... plan the moves several steps ahead and you will have maximum return. cheers from the 2 cents department.
