You did not answer my question re network cards, but since they are pretty up-to-date systems I will assume they have network cards already.
Are you trying to connect the two with a crossover network cable, or do you have a switch and two regular network cables connecting them? There are a number of good general resources for getting started with networking on the web, as well. |

Now that I have had time for second thoughts, I think that I should point out that new Christmas computers being hooked up to the Internet often need a number of security programs for firewall, anti-virus and spyware. http://www.uant.net/index.html is an interesting site that carries some free programs for all this. Thanks for the information ichecked out the site Happy New Year |

I really hope that sound isn't the sound you get when you crunch ice, if not, something's wrong.

I'd prefer the ice crunching sound to that crunching that was in Stephen King's Langoliers. I was crunching some ice just this morning getting into my car.

Should you want to splurge on cable or dsl you can have both online at once without networking. I have not tried networking, but from what I understand it can put both computers at risk if one catches a cold!! The second reason not to, is that if one is much slower it will pull the faster one down. I am not an expert though, this is just from hearsay and friends who are experts!
I use dial up on my slower computer for sending an extra seti packet home. It is way to slow to run a UD device. |
