Marcel,
----------------------------------------Please copy past the log entries from the message tab or from the log file in the BOINC dir. These files start with STDxxxxxxx.txt. Give us about 5 before and 10 after the offending line. thx

Marcel,
----------------------------------------thanks for the log. Seems the machine reported the troublesome workunit and a few more, which were in the end double reported, probably because u had network issues. Next Step: Visit the Result Status page and see what the status code is like Error, Pending validation, Inconclusive for the following work units: 10000251-10000879 10000264-10000872 10000242-10000890 If 'Error' or 'Invalid' click on that link to see what it tells. Copy past in the next post for review. Include in your post the computer ID so we can pass the info to the technical group if need be. If Pending or Inconclusive, they are just waiting for more copies to be completed to establish quorum. Question: Do other work units u processed in the Result Status page report 'Error' or 'Invalid'? U say its the first time u see this, so presume them all to be okay. Genome Comparison works flawless on my PCs.... done hundreds without trouble, so no reason to jump ship so quickly as P4 proposes (He's i think from Brazil, so would expect him to support the Fiocruz project with more stamina ;>) cheers

Sorry, this computer isn't a Intel. It's an AMD AthonXP. greetz Be happy -- Be Very Happy From a discussion I remember on the UD Client side before I came over to BOINC, the AMD Athlon processor does a much better job of handling the MS-XP instruction set than does Intel. Could be part of the reason that AMD has been cutting into the processor lead that Intel has had for so long. I'm running Win-XP Home w/SP-2 on an Athlon-based PC and have been extremely pleased with the results. It'll be interesting to see which of the companies does the best job with the new Vista OS. But, for now, I'm sticking with my AMD Athlon. ![]() ![]() "Everything in moderation, including moderation" -- Mark Twain |

Yes, I'm very pleased with it, but this machine makes a lot of trouble.
I have another AMD and 2 Intel processors running and they don't make any troubles :) |

Somebody on this forum wrote about a 'Fubar' function in AMD processors?
