Hello,
----------------------------------------I thought there are no more inconclusive or erroneous FAAH WUs but I got the following results: faah1235_ d113n596_ x2BPZ_ 02-- In Progress 01/18/2007 16:40:00 01/25/2007 16:40:00 0.00 0 / 0 faah1235_ d113n596_ x2BPZ_ 02-- Pending Validation 01/15/2007 16:37:02 01/16/2007 01:40:01 3.99 64 / 0 faah1235_ d113n596_ x2BPZ_ 02-- Pending Validation 01/15/2007 16:36:34 01/16/2007 05:44:10 9.77 62 / 0 faah1235_ d113n596_ x2BPZ_ 02-- Error 01/15/2007 16:34:18 01/18/2007 16:39:03 4.74 53 / 0 faah1237_ d116n949_ x2BPZ_ 01-- In Progress 01/19/2007 11:30:36 01/21/2007 18:57:00 0.00 0 / 0 faah1237_ d116n949_ x2BPZ_ 01-- Inconclusive 01/16/2007 09:08:41 01/17/2007 02:32:51 3.07 71 / 0 faah1237_ d116n949_ x2BPZ_ 01-- Inconclusive 01/16/2007 09:07:43 01/17/2007 15:42:09 11.05 112 / 0 faah1237_ d116n949_ x2BPZ_ 01-- Inconclusive 01/16/2007 09:00:54 01/19/2007 11:28:28 5.85 64 / 0 The result for the first unit is not yet determined but I think it will be the same as the second. ![]() |

Cio, we do currently about 75,000 FAAH Work units a day and done almost 35 million so far on the project. There continues to be one or the other error on a members PC for many many reasons that could cause a work unit to be slightly off from the quorum or even result in a work unit being returned with a clear error.
----------------------------------------Totals: What's the logic of the first becoming the same as the second, latter just not 100% agreeing in quorum, thus a 4th being send out to get absolute verification. The first 4th copy is send because 1 of the original 3 had a clear error. The probability of it turning into valid upon return is extremely hi. Please keep watching if your copy turns 'invalid'. As for the XYZ on what the various statuses mean: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105#48791

I was just surprised because I didn't have any inconclusive units lately but as you've said I should have expected some errors, :-). I'll be watching the returned units closely for any invalid results, you'll be the first one to know. cio_redulla ![]() |

Inconclusive quorums are not uncommon but the average cruncher with 1 or 2 PC's may not see many of them. My machines complete nearly 100 work units per day and I always have 1 or 2 inconclusive work units at any given time. You only need to be concerned if the invalid result turns out to have came from your computer. And even then, I would wait to see if the computer generates a pattern of invalid result. If it does, then you'll need to investigate why it is malfunctioning. A single invalid result can be caused by many things like power surges or brown outs so there's not much you can do to correct it.

Hello olympic, The fourth machine above in the first unit with an error is my machine. Yeah, I guess I can do nothing about it because my computer restarted suddenly while crunching that unit, :-). Anyway, I hope it won't end up being invalid. ![]() |
