Troubleshooting here

I am a new member to the community or rather not even a member yet because the software i have installed doesnt work at all. Whenever I connect to the internet, it says "Cannot Connect to Server" ....It says either the internet is not connected or the Community Grid agent is offline for maintenance but this everytime... I mean The Agent cannot be offline always....
What should I do.. I wanna run the software but i am new so i dont understand much about it (Actually i dont know anything about it).

So, please help me someone.

Re: Troubleshooting here

Would it be possible for you to give some more information regarding your setup.

1) What hardware (PC) are you using ?
2) How do you connect to the Internet (dial-up/ADSL) ?
3) Are you doing this at home or at work ? If at work, it could be that there is a proxy server which connects you to the Internet.
4) What is the schedule configured for connection in the Preferences tab ?
5) Do you have any firewall software installed which could be blocking the connection ?

Re: Troubleshooting here

Thanks for reply

I am using a Celeron PC only 32 MB RAM.
I use my PC from home and i dont have firewall software installed.
I use dial-up connection.

I guess downloading the software again might work.
I will try it out.

Thank You for replying

Rosetta requires a minimum of 128MB of RAM, as mentioned here on the System Requirements page: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/join_now/system_requirements.html.
I'm sorry to say that you won't be able to run the software unless you upgrade your machine.

The software will run, but when it won't get anything to work on. Also, while a dial-up connection is fine, you need to be connected for it communicate with the server OR set it up so that it automatically connects when it needs to communicate with the server.
See our Network Settings FAQ regarding connecting to the server:
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/join_now/connecting_to_the_server.html

Best of luck,
