I was reviewing my BOINC work units under Device Manager and noticed some strange things. I am using IE 7.0. Go to Device Manager, then Results Status (for BOINC results):
1. Select "Device Name: All" and "Result Status: Work in Progress". This will show all in-progress work units. 2. Then select "Results Status: Error" and you get the same list as #1 3. Now go to "Results Status: No Reply" to see that filter list 4. Now go back to "Results Status: Error" and the list is very different from the first time you looked at the error list. This problem also appears to apply when viewing the filtered list starting on "Inconclusive" and then viewing the to "Too Late" results. If you start from "Invalid" and then view the "Too Late" results the list is very different. I tried clearing the cache between the two different filter displays but it didn't matter. I hope this is understandable, and reproduceable for you techs. |

It's a known bug. Annoying, isn't it?
It's on the list. |

Now that I know it's there, I can work around it. I hadn't played around with many of the filtering options until today, and was curious to see about the special types like "late", "inconclusive" or "error".
I was actually surprised to see some on inconclusive. Does this condition mean that the three work units returned didn't agree at all? |

The definitions are in 'Start Here' at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105 For a short period, results that were Valid but given only half-credit because of massive overclaimed credit were marked Invalid (confusing people) but knreed changed that back to Valid. It's a known bug. Annoying, isn't it? It's on the list. I've only recently found out how severe a "bug" this is. I know on one of my results an ERROR was generated. I try to display the error (choose the specific machine and select ERROR for the filter type) and it claims there isn't one with an error. Is this what you meant by "a known bug"? How come "inconclusive" works, or "work pending", etc? I was under the impression that you could still get the filter results just by choosing different filters in different orders, but no. By the way, I couldn't find this bug mentioned in the Known Issues. |

The fix for the bug keeps being pushed back by more urgent issues.

Very odd, it's a known bug and been discussed quite a few time, and attempted to fix an re-rearing, but just now used the 'error' filter and 'too late' (i have 2 due to dear telecom), and both gave me a blank screen, where in past it would just list all as if no filter was applied.
