Re: My computer works in vain, why ?

In fact, I restarted my computer, and it seems task is fine now, so I guess I can just kill these process. I'll try that next time.

Re: My computer works in vain, why ?

In fact, killing the wcg process don't work very well. Sometimes the task restarts, sometimes not (the process don't even start).

Do I have to stop working for HPF2 ?

Re: My computer works in vain, why ?

Where's it said to kill the (BOINC science) process? Read again: Suspend the Project - speak WCG (in the Project Tab of the BOINCmgr GUI) for 30 seconds, not the work unit in the Tasks (fka Work) tab. We've yet to hear from a cruncher about that method not working. Job resumes at last checkpoint saved.

If you kill a wcgxxxxxxxxx process, it will most of the times just restart, but can also get damaged beyond repair. Under UD agent, it will be send back immediately back and a new work unit is fetched. Under BOINC a 'error' notice is send back to the server.
