Gerald, I can understand your sentiment, more so in light of the year you have had. Kevin has just recently updated the thread in Known Issues with some very open and honest details of what he and his merry band of warriors are doing battle with as we speak. Those of use in the IT field can attest to just how nasty a problem they are working on. I certainly don't envy them but I appreciate their efforts in the middle of what was bound to be their Christmas vacation for at least some of them.

if everything was running correctly more progress would be done If hard drives never crashed like WCG's did...If servers never went down... If the power never went out... If they didn't restore everyone else's data yours would get there faster... If it never snowed in Boulder, Colorado... If... If... If... If everything were running correctly (like now) would anyone notice?

Like we say in french, if my aunt would have testicles, we would call her my uncle.

And if every thing was perfect, we wouldn't be crunching to find cures again so many illness. *Edited for profanity - Uplinger ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by uplinger at Dec 26, 2006 5:22:30 PM] |

so now you know!! and you can now go put your head back in the sand Bet that's the first time you've been told that Retsof! Mary, considering your title of 'Veteran Cruncher' I'm assuming you aren't a schoolchild/student. Hasn't your business ever suffered a major failure of a business dependent piece of equipment? No? Well aren't you the lucky one! Please remember, at least you weren't the one having to work through the Christmas holidays to try to resolve this major problem. I'm sure glad it wasn't me. WCG, keep up the good work you do to facilitate this great project. I just clocked up my 1st year of runtime here and look forward to many more. |
