Re: Welcome to the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Project

I'm in with it as my Grandson died in November from SMA(Type 1) aged 7 months

GM, sorry for your loss. It's good to see a project for this affliction.

Re: Welcome to the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Project

Is there a statement of the minimum system requirements for this project yet?

Yes, at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq

The RAM requirements are the same as for Genome Comparison, so this is fairly small. It does require a reasonably fast processor.

Since I usually run BOINC this would normally be too early for the
following question. However since the WCG BOINC servers are down,
I have re-installed the UD program. cool

Question confused
What are the "checkpoint" times for the MD project WU's? My next WU
should be a MD WU, but if the "checkpoint" time are more than a couple
of hours, I will change back to Genome Comparisons, with it's wonderfully
short checkpoints!

Jack -

The checkpoint times depend on the workunit. On average workunits should checkpoint about every half hour. One way to tell when a checkpoint has occurred is in the project graphics the colors of the protein structures will update after a checkpoint.

Thanks, that sounds about the same as I experience on Rosetta@HOME (BOINC). It is worth trying a few work units on my CPU after I complete the Genome Comparison WU.

I don't feel guilty when I slack off, because - I know that my computer is doing useful scientific research.

Bonjour,
Je viens de m'inscrire pour la dystrophie musculaire, mais le client se met à bosser pour FightAids@home.
Comment changer ça ?

Est-ce la même alliance francophone que celle de Folding@Home ?
