Hi Jason,
----------------------------------------Why dont u start listing out what agent (UD-WCG/BOiNC) u are running and what operating system, what project (AIDS, Cancer, Genome, Folding) and security software and finally the amount of RAM.... The backing-off suggests UD Agent. Suggest u exit the agent, and do a boot.
