confused Is it possible to install WCG on Windows 2003?

Does WCG support Windows 2003 Web (Online 24/7), I have been testing it over a period of time still no luck on getting it to connect to the Grid server.

The msg says:
Preparing to send results to Grid server ...
Ageng paused, see www.wcgrid.org/cause.html

When I go see the page it show me the help page of "Connecting to the Server."

Anyone got any ideas?

The default security settings on 2003 are very restrictive. This is a good thing, but you will probably have to configure your firewall to allow WCG to connect.

Check your firewall and event logs to see what's happening.

I strongly suggest you use a firewall. The default Windows 2003 settings have the built-in firewall enabled.

It's not a matter of firewall, data are dowloaded correctly but I cant make Windows 2003 work either.

Re: Is it possible to install WCG on Windows 2003?

You may have to open up port 443 for UD.exe to create outgoing link to Server. Browsed around and saw comments on NTLM not being supported by UD agent and a McAfee uninstall letting things flow. See these threads for DEP comments (Only switch on for basic Windows functions): http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=7585#61104 & http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=3326#21587

If it's a dual core machine, u could try with BOINC as the agent. There are about 3,500 Win 2003 and Win 2003 Servers connected to WCG (source BOINCstats ).
